How long does an eviction take at the LTB?+
Timelines vary by notice type and Board scheduling — typically 8 to 16 weeks from notice to order.
Can a landlord evict for personal use after buying a property?+
Yes, under an N12 — but strict statutory requirements including one month's compensation must be met.
What happens if a tenant doesn't pay rent after an N4?+
The landlord may file an L1 application seeking an order for rent and possible eviction.
I'm a tenant — can I stop an eviction?+
Often yes. Section 83 relief, payment plans, and procedural defenses can prevent or delay eviction.
Do you represent both landlords and tenants?+
Yes. Each matter is screened for conflicts before we take it on.
Are hearings virtual or in person?+
Most LTB hearings are held by video. We appear on your behalf either way.
