1. About this website
This website is operated by Aria Legal Services, a paralegal practice licensed by the Law Society of Ontario. By accessing arialegal.ca you agree to these Terms.
2. Information is general, not legal advice
Content on this site — including articles, service descriptions and FAQs — is provided for general information about Ontario law and paralegal services. It is not legal advice, does not take the place of a consultation with a licensed representative, and should not be relied on for any specific situation. Legal outcomes depend on the facts of each case and the applicable law at the time.
3. No paralegal-client relationship until confirmed
Submitting an intake form, sending an email, calling or messaging us does not, on its own, create a paralegal-client relationship. A relationship only begins after we complete a conflict-of-interest check and both parties sign a written retainer. Until then, please do not send confidential, time-sensitive or urgent information you would not want shared. You remain responsible for any court, tribunal or statutory deadlines that apply to your matter.
4. Scope of practice
Paralegals licensed by the Law Society of Ontario may provide legal services only within the permitted scope of paralegal practice (for example, Small Claims Court up to $50,000, the Landlord and Tenant Board, Provincial Offences Court, certain summary conviction matters and immigration matters authorized before the Immigration and Refugee Board). Matters that fall outside that scope — including proceedings before the Federal Court, Superior Court civil litigation, criminal indictable offences and family law — will be referred to an appropriate lawyer.
5. Fees and estimates
Advertised flat fees describe the standard service package for a typical matter and do not include HST, government filing fees, disbursements, or travel where applicable. Any fee quoted before a retainer is signed is an estimate; a binding fee will be confirmed in your retainer agreement.
6. Testimonials and results
Client testimonials describe individual experiences and are shared with the client's consent. Past results do not guarantee future outcomes.
7. Third-party links
Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external sites.
8. Intellectual property
All content on arialegal.ca — including text, graphics, logos, and page design — is the property of Aria Legal Services (or its licensors) and is protected by Canadian copyright law. You may print or download excerpts for your personal, non-commercial use; any other reproduction requires our written permission.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Aria Legal Services is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, information on this website by anyone who is not a client under a signed retainer.
10. Complaints
If you have a concern about our services, please contact us first at office@arialegal.ca. You may also contact the Law Society of Ontario, which regulates paralegals in Ontario.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario.
